Install Plesk to existing droplet

Hello - I have a couple of droplets that were created without Plesk pre-installed via the Marketplace. While I understand I could just go through a standard plesk install via command line, is this a good approach on a droplet, or would it be better to re-create a droplet with Plesk and migrate the sites over?

Is there a DO-specific guide on installing and configuring Plesk on an existing droplet? So far I can only find articles that are several years old.

Regards,
Roger

Hello, @rogerStarfish

You can install Plesk on an existing droplet, there is no issue with that.

The installation process is not complicated and you need to run the install script and then just complete the installation. You can find more details here:

Plesk is also available in our Marketplace as a one-click install:

  • Thank you for the response. I ran the install without error, however I couldn’t log in to the the plesk server as sites hosted are insecure, including websites that were already hosted on the server. It also seems to have disabled nginx. I had to restore a backup :(

How can I run plesk-installer and enable nginx and ensure sites remain secure? Or, from the command line re-enable and secure?
