Say I had 10000 names with,
Can I have them all load up the same index.php on a server showing some contact info

Why does it sound like you're trying to do something shady? Is this sort some of email spam system? Or google keyword stuffing?

Serious question.

  • Nothing shady I have a customer who sells domains instead of parking with someone like sedo he wants a custom landing page

  • @anthony.ifon Well technically pointing several domains to a single page is possible. Perhaps using Apache virtual hosts and instead of changing the document root of every domain, keep it as the same one. You can detect what is the request domain using PHP and change content accordingly on your index.php landing page.

I don't know what sort of limits Digital Ocean may have in place for the DNS side of things, and I think you may have some rate-limit issues if you're using the API, so perhaps you may need to contact them and verify what you want to do is possible.

  • @SamIF. Thanks we have tried to do this on a cpanel host but after about 5000 domains it started to struggle from what I can figure it could be due to config file size.

What I was hoping that if private nameservers pointed to a droplets ip then it would just resolve a landing page I'm not sure if its that simple though I'll just spin up a droplet and try I think
