I’m the lead developer of a mobile architecture framework aimed at providing an accessible, user-driven approach to creating mobile solutions for NGOs, students, and researchers, with emphasis on humanitarian functions (mHealth, economic capacity building, agricultural improvement) in developing regions and utilizing many existing open source tools.
I have an international team of developers working on this project, with a pilot implementation scheduled for this Fall. I’m also in contact with a number of NGOs in East Africa struggling to implement their own mobile solutions due to lacks of technical expertise and funding. Digital Ocean seems to be the best choice to provide the back-end support needed by organizations at this level for these kinds of projects. Making the framework even more accessible and easily deployable via a 1-click droplet would enable countless organizations to make use of it with less overhead, and would also support a growing and vital sector in mobile technology adoption in developing regions.
Is there some sort of application process whereby Digital Ocean can assess and incorporate 1-click solutions developed by non-DO employees?
