There’s a project I’m working on and I want to be able to let other people deploy a droplet with a given snapshot. So they don’t have to waste time doing it themselves. I know I can take a snapshot and send it to someone but I lose control of it. Basically this means I need to make several snapshots and hope most of them are returned to me. So I can send them out to others. If I could just take a snapshot and make it publicly available then it won’t put extra stress on DigitalOcean and much less of a pain for me. It would also be fine if I could give them a copy so I don’t need to rely on them returning it.

Sharing snapshots publicly isn’t a feature that we support at the moment, however, it certainly is on the roadmap. You can follow the progress on it here. (If you vote while logged in to UserVoice, you’ll receive email alerts).
