Just like Linode. I can set up a Linode Name (aka, Linode Label Name) and a reserve dns record based on dns record.
So i can make my dashboard clean that all VPS machine shows me the Name (Just like a Nick name) but I still have reserve dns host name in PTR record.
Its seem wont happen in Digital Ocean? when I change the hostname in setting. my Droplets’ name changed as well. If I want to PTR record showing a domain address instead of IP address. I have to make my Droplets’ name to a address instead of a real Nick name.
No solution for that??

While you can point whatever forward facing DNS records you want to your droplet the PTR is defined solely by the name you give your droplet and it is not currently possible to maintain a different PTR from the droplet name. I would recommend submitting this feature request to our uservoice site so others can vote on it. The uservoice site is a primary source we use when planning new features.
