Is there an issue with the CDN performance?

Posted on November 5, 2018

I’m hosting my site (handcode.co.uk) on a droplet on digital ocean.

I’m also using Digital Ocean Spaces to serve the images for my site as a CDN.

I find when loading the site, the performance on loading the images is terrible. They seem to load really slowly.

Has anyone else had issues like this?

Hey friend!

Shouldn’t be performing that bad, but routing can definitely make it bad at certain end points. If you’re certain that isn’t relevant, be sure to open a ticket with our support team so they can have our engineers dig in further.

If it could be routing, try enabling the CDN on your space. When you go to the space’s page in the cloud panel, click Settings and look for the CDN section. You can click Edit and you’ll see the option to enable it.

Hope that helps :)

Hi Jarland,

Thanks for the reply!

I’m not entirely sure of the issue - just seems like the images take a while to load!

I’ve opened a ticket :)

Thanks,

Stuart

I can confirm. I used the CDN to host videos for my app and it’s very slow.
