I was having some issues routing www to a non www url in nginx and i ended up deleting the entire letsencrypt folder. Now I am getting a CAA iusse failure when trying to run certbot again. Is there anyway to recover my keys or to wipe it clean to start again?

I would recommend reinstalling certbot and requesting a new certificate for your domain, starting over with the LetsEncrypt setup. Once you have the cert installed, update us here with your configuration if you’re still seeing issues with the redirect and we can assist in modifying it to meet your needs.
Ok I think it is back up after following your instructions, however trying to use a proxy pass to redirect traffic to my node app, which is currently failing, of course this should be an https request location / { # First attempt to serve request as file, then # as directory, then fall back to displaying a 404. try_files $uri $uri/ =404; proxy_pass http://example.com:5007; proxy_http_version 1.1; proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade; proxy_set_header Connection ‘upgrade’; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_cache_bypass $http_upgrade; }
