Hi, i have a domain that is not hosted on a droplet. What i want to do is create a droplet to have it act as my mail sever, while keeping the website hosted with the current hosting. I just want to make sure if this is possible before i venture myseld into this. If it is possible, what changes would i need to make to my domain? MX records etc…

I read that you could do want you want to do on this post, I need it too, but i’m new on DigitalOcean and MX record, can you share some information that help me to mount my MailServer exclusively on a Droplet.

This is definitely possible! The only thing you’d need to do with your domain is point your MX record (mail.example.com) to your mail server’s IP address. Optionally, add an TXT record for SPF.
Everything else should be done and set up on your mail server. If you’re not familiar with setting one up, you might want to give iRedMail a try — it has everything you’ll need to get a mail server up-and-running within the hour.
