Question

Migrate my website from my former developer to myself

My former dev set up my company’s website and was hosting it here. She did that with her personal credentials and I need it to be migrated to me as she no longer works for me.

Hey @675945b08f4146d7968f6d90043944,

In our public community, we aim to answer open questions about anything SysAdmin, DigitalOcean and beyond. However, we make every attempt to keep personal information safe and so don’t ever access personal account information here. This means we can’t provide help with any account or billing-related issues.

Please reach out to our amazing support team who will be more than happy to assist you with your account issue! :)

Hope that helps! - KFSys.

Hi there,

You’ll need to either have your developer transfer ownership of the DigitalOcean account or migrate the site to a new account you control. Easiest way: set up a new Droplet, export the WordPress site (files + database), and import it into your own setup. If needed, reach out to DigitalOcean support for help with account or access transfers.
