Migrate Wordpress from localhost to virtual host on DigitalOcean

Posted on March 2, 2015

Hi there. I have a Wordpress site with a MySQL database on XAMPP on Mac OS X. I need to migrate it to my droplet on DigitalOcean.

I already have a live domain (URL) on my DigitalOcean droplet. So I’ll need to set-up a virtual host in Apache to install the WordPress site.

I found various recipes on the internet to do this, but many have different instructions.

So, please point me to step-by-step instructions on how to do this on my DigitalOcean droplet (Ubuntu).

Thanks!
