Move DigitalOceans DNS management to Virtualmin

Yes this is! I run Virtualmin myself (including DNS). It may just be your wording (or my interpretation) but what do you mean by “However, Virtualmin suggests various of DNS records I have to add in order to have everything working properly.”?

The main points here (ask if you need more detailed steps):

• For your domain, in the BIND DNS manager in Virtualmin, make two A records (ns1 and ns2 (they really can be called anything but usually name servers are named like so, you need two records as usually most domain registers require at least two name servers for a domain) and set them to your droplets public IP address.
• After adding those make sure you go to the name server entries and make sure two exist. (Zone) name should be your domain name (followed by a .) and name server should be ns1.yourdomain.tld. and ns2.yourdomain.tld. (Take note of the . at the end of the domain name)
• Head to wherever you registered/purchased your domain name (GoDaddy for example) and find where you can set the name servers, you might need to find what is referenced as “Glue records” and make two of them (ns1.yourdomain.tld points to your droplets public IP and the same for ns2 record) I personally register my domains at godaddy so I can really only provide exact instructions for them.
• Once the glue records are updated, you can set it’s name servers to ns1.yourdomain.tld and ns2.yourdomain.tld and save.

One note: if you have multiple domains, you can just set your other domains to use ns1.yourdomain.tld and ns2.yourdomain.tld and then create new virtual servers in Virtualmin. You do not need to setup your own name servers for each domain on your box.

With "“However, Virtualmin suggests various of DNS records I have to add in order to have everything working properly.” I meant that now if I click on DNS in virtualmin for my virtual server, I get ‘We suggest following DNS records’, followed by a serie of DNS records. I (currently) have to setup these records in DO in order to have things work.

About the glue record, is it nessacery that this domain name is a virtualserver in DigitalOcean, and other websites are subservers of this virtual server?
