Hello,
i’m providing subdomains of my domains to my family members an a few friends. I want that they are able to choose the mail-server they like, so I have to set the MX records for the subdomains to their mail-servers. But this is not possible at DO DNS. Would you think about an integration of that feature please?
Respectfully

How (or why) is it not possible? What did you try doing up to this point?

I’ve never tried it; but couldn’t this be done by creating A records for the subdomains instead of CNAMEs?
You misunderstood. I want to use several different mx records for the sub-domains of a domain. For example:

father MX 10 fathers.mail-server.com.

That the MX of father.example.com ponits to fathers.mail-server.com.

I can’t set the hostname at the beginning of the record.
What if you separate out the subdomains from the zone file (and create separate zone files for each subdomain)?
