My customer is asking me for an IP to associate his domain to a digital ocean app, but the app only gives me CNAME

Posted on March 8, 2022

Hello friends.

I have this customer that wants to publish a nuxt website i created in Digital Ocean Apps (Apps platform) under his domain. He says he only can change the A record of his domain to another IP and can’t create a CNAME. Is there an IP I can give him to associate the domain or is it mandatory he uses the CNAME?

Thanks!

Hi @webchimp,

As far as I’m aware, DigitalOcean currently does not [rpvode external IP addresses for apps in App Platform. This is part of the limits listed in the Docs:

  • App Platform applications do not have a persistent IP address.
