My droplet turned itself on automatically after I explicitly shut it down via its console.
After the shutdown, I checked its state at the “droplets” page and it was off. (Also it was unaccessible).
Some hours later it was on again. Is this possible?

This question was answered by @ryanpq:
There are two ways this could occur:
1.) If you performed a snapshot of your droplet it would be powered on automatically when the snapshot process is complete. This is done to limit downtime when doing snapshots.
2.) If the hypervisor your droplet is on encountered an issue requiring our engineers to reboot it, all droplets on the node may be powered on when the node comes back online. If this occurred you would receive a notification of the issue via email.
If neither of these apply I would recommend opening a support ticket as they will be able to review the power on event and let you know how it was initiated.
