Question

New droplet "this site can't be reached2"

hi basically i’v setup my wordpress droplet correctly now i brought cvrsocial.uk from cloudflare, but when i put that domain in my browser i’m getting # This site can’t be reached

Check if there is a typo in cvrsocial.uk.

  • If spelling is correct, [try running windows network Diagnostics](javascript:diagnoseErrors()).

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

now NXDOMAIN is for mail servers only!

i keep going here 165.227.198.181 but nothing now i’ve put all three digitaloceans nameservers into cloudflare as well i don’t understand what’s happening, could someone elaborate on this please i’ve spoken with cloudflare on there discord and even they said there DNS is setup correctly to point to you. normally when you go to a domain in the browser for wordpress normally it brings you to the install? mine it don’t

Hello @jayangler

You can double check the IP address of the droplet and make sure that the A record is pointed to the correct IP. In order to speed things up you can temporary disable CloudFlare’s caching if present.

Also ensure that the web-service (Apache/Nginx) is running in order to server the content of your site/application.

Hey @jayangler,

The IP you provided, 165.227.198.181 is not actually in use :

  1. PING 165.227.198.181 (165.227.198.181) 56(84) bytes of data.
  2. ^C
  3. --- 165.227.198.181 ping statistics ---
  4. 5 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 4001ms

Are you sure that is your Droplet’s IP address? You can check that from your Control Panel --> Projects —> Your Droplet IP.

Apart from that, what you need to do once you get the proper IP address is to point the IP from Cloudflare to your Droplet and use Cloudflare’s Nameservers on your Domain.
