Hi
Before i joined Digitalocean all i heard was good and i expected a young modern company. What i experienced after registration of my FIRST account and applying for the Github student developer promo code is nothing BUT HELL. https://education.github.com/pack
14 Responses on support at digitalocean and through verify@digitalocean, they asked my to prove my student status … done. Then evenso beforehand they knew from my brothers account using my creditcard, did NOT allow the promocode for my own account because my brother is using for his account a cheap 10$ promocode.
I am really beginning to dislike the people working for this company. I hear from others getting the promo evenso another family member uses the same credit card. Is this purely arbitrary?
I spent now more than 2 hours just responding to the support ticket WITHOUT any help or chance to get the promo evenso i am a proven student at university and it is my first account.
This is my last approach to get this settled. When i leave i will not leave silent. I will spread the word in my network, university, web, stackexchange and so on. At the moment they didn’t help me with a promo code BUT hurt me by losing much time, nerves and all the goodwill they had.
Anyone similar like this???

Wow man, Holy crap, you are way too worked up over this – and your immaturity is really showing because of your anger. How exactly are they supposed to know that you aren’t just lying to them? In fact, you should be thankful that you aren’t messing things up for yourself and your brother because, assuming you’re telling the truth, he shouldn’t be using YOUR credit card online for things anyway.
So, all things considered, I think that the fact they haven’t told you to get lost (especially considering your ridiculously petty, pithy, holier-than-thou attitude - implying that because your little $10 credit or whatever didn’t get approved a second time on the same credit card, you are therefore going to go all-out and make sure to cry from the rooftops how the awful people at DigitalOcean have wasted a whole two hours of your time) is something that you should be a little more grateful for. I don’t think that your one-man-army campaign against D.O. would be very successful anyway, as it is this whole thing comes off very childish and whiny.
By the way, “evenso” is not a word. Not even when you use it thrice.
I’ve heard nothing but good comments from people trying to claim the GitHub promo codes, actually.
