Postfix can't send mail Ubuntu

Posted on February 24, 2016

Hi,

I am having one heck of a time setting up basic email service with this server.

Currently using postfix.

Emails stay in queue forever, and if I force them I get

Forcing the attempted delivery of mail with the command postqueue -c /etc/postfix -f …

postqueue: warning: unable to look up public/qmgr: No such file or directory postqueue: fatal: Cannot flush mail queue - mail system is down

Turned off the ufw firewall for this testing so I know it’s not the firewall.

Thanks

I used this one : https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-setup-postfix-on-ubuntu-14-04

Should I be using another? What I would like is to have php be able to send mail to customers and wordpress to be able to email out passwords and such.

Thanks

@yorkdigitalsolutions - You have both sendmail and postfix installed and active. You need to disable sendmail for postfix to work.
