I am going to be creating a game server hosting site so 20% of my servers will be DDoSed. And worst of all, since they are on shared nodes, other servers on the same VPS will also be affected. Moreover, my VPS may even get flagged.

If 20% of your servers are getting DDoS’d and impacting other users, it is very likely to get your account permanently banned. There’s no way around that without a DOS mitigation service in front of yours.
@bodie I meant impacting other users that are using my services. Not having any impact on digital oceans hypervisors or anything.
