There’s any way to define your own private network?
I see that by default that Private Network option uses multiple DO DHCP pools within a specific Zone and also without the option to define your own subnets. Sadly 2 out of my servers are in a subnet and the other 2 in a different subnet… that’s a bit odd as I can’t properly design all firewall rules that we need.
For example I would like:
/24 for LBs /24 for Web tier /24 for SQL tier … and so on / environment (prod, stage, dev).
Is quite annoying not to have this option and off the record… when you start building your infrastructure usually you start with this after creating your account.

@SebasianG, you could create a VPN and you’d benefit from a truly private and secure network.

Well you’re right, but this will add an extra cost for an additional droplet. Would be nice to have this available right on the console.
Between us, without this feature we can’t actually say that we can control the resources (polite way).
Still a few key features are missing from DO:
- IAM
- VPCs (Subnets, IGW etc.)
- CDN (having quite a good presence now makes sense to have some CDN in Place [NGiNX will do the job quite well])
- Memory Droplets (memcache, redis [standalone - clustered]… these are quite easy)
- SQL (MySQL / PSQL, managed services)
- Serverless framework (Python, NodeJS, Ruby, PHP at least)
…and I’ll end here, I think these are the basic services for a good start. They have APIs, Kuberenetes, VMs, Storage but… not a proper VPC to design your stuff.
If DO had these in place (or at least in Preview) I’m fairly sure that… more companies would have moved stuff to DO.
