PuTTY X11 proxy: Unsupported authorisation protocol Ubuntu

Posted on June 27, 2018

PuTTY X11 proxy: Unsupported authorisation protocol (google-chrome-stable:15589): Gtk-WARNING **: 02:14:10.555: cannot open display: localhost:10.

I’ve wasted a lot of time trying things;

  • ln .Xauthority / home / user Xming is working, I connect with PuTTY-SSH, I have modified the sshd_config file decomposing:

AddressFamily inet X11Forwarding yes X11DisplayOffset 10 X11UseLocalhost yes

I need help please.

I finally found the problem; I connected from PuTTY-ssh as root user, then changed user with “su - frank” and launched this error. The solution is to connect directly with the frank user from PuTTY-ssh.

Happy day.
