Rake task dying in the middle of execution

Posted on July 3, 2015

I’ve deployed a Rails app to an Ubuntu droplet w/ dokku (installed manually). My app database entries are generated from a couple of .csv files via a rake task. When I run any of these tasks, they end up dying with the following (cryptic) output:

/tmp/bashenv.826794096: line 73: 128 Killed setuidgid “$unprivileged_user” “$@”

Sometimes the task dies immediately, sometimes it will run for a few iterations until it dies before finishing. I don’t have this issue locally, so I think it might have something to do with Digital Ocean. Perhaps my droplet is running out of memory? Not sure, as the output above isn’t super meaningful to me.

Hi mtchllbrrn,

have you managed to solve this problem? I am having the same issue. I would love to read your experience with that.
