We have a complicated situation. We originally used a Rails server on Digital Ocean for our website. Then in December we switched to PHP and now we need to switch back to Rails. We’ve been working on this for more than a week.
What should we do ? Can we simply uninstall Apache and then re-configure Rails using the proper path and configuration ? The path itself seems elusive.
We also have a blog in Wordpress that runs on PHP.

You can simply install the new software and uninstall the old but I would recommend creating a snapshot image of your current configuration and then rebuilding your droplet either from the Rails one-click image or from a base OS image and setting up your new environment.
