Recovery Console not responding

Posted on August 31, 2022

Hello,

After i enabled the firewall (sudo ufw enable) in my Droplet, i can’t access it with ssh or rdp. When i open the recovery console i can’t type anything no matter how much time i wait for it to load.

The state of the console remains stable as shown in the picture. Recovery Console

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi @cuteaquamarineaxolotl,

That’s very weird, it stops right after it tries to load the kernel. I’ll recommend you to try and reboot the Droplet and then use the Recovery Console once more. If that persists, it might be an issue with the Droplet and I’ll recommend contacting DigitalOcean’s Support on the matter, they might be able to assist you more.

You can reach them here:

Hope that helps! - KFSys.

Hello @cuteaquamarineaxolotl

You can try disabling any active add-blocker extensions in your browser and then give it another try with the recovery console. Additionally, you can try to access it using a different browser.

If the issue remains you can get in touch with our support team and they will be more than happy to assist you.

Regards

First, disable ufw through the recovery console with the command (ufw disable). Now, the server will allow you to log in through regular console. Once logged in, add the new rule through (sudo ufw allow in “OpenSSH”). Then run (sudo ufw enable) and reboot after that. After the server boots up, you should be able to log into the console.
