redirect error

Posted on May 16, 2014

hello all, wondering if anyone can help me to solve my conundrum.

i was trying to redirect my xxx.xxx.xx.xx vps ip address with nginx installed. i edited nginx conf file with 301 redirect to my domain.com but i mistype my domain name after saving i couldn’t access my vps ip anymore.

changed the default server back to localhost and deleted the 301 redirect line, even installing and reinstalling, deleted old nginx files but still coulnt access my vps ip again. i have no .htaccess in my vps other than wordpress plugins and my vps in unmanaged.

can anyone help me to solve this issue, any advice is welcome.

thanks

no go, i can see the nginx welcome if i changed to server location root. but if i point it to my original and intended location it just keeps on downloading something. chrome downloads it automatically and safari show the format is .dms

oh btw, the intended root location is of a wordpress folder.
