To reset your root password you can follow these steps here:

- Log into your DigitalOcean Control Panel.
- Navigate to the “Droplets” section and select the droplet you want to reset the password for.
- Click on the “Access” tab in the droplet’s detail page.
- Click on the “Reset Root Password” button. This action will restart your droplet and send a new root password to your registered email address.
If you’ve actually lost your SSH key, then you could follow the steps here on how to recover for your access:
