set swiss fr keyboard on macbook pro : get nowhere

Posted on June 12, 2017

I try to setup a new droplet with the swiss fr keyboard using macbook pro : used dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration but it goes nowhere…

Any clue?

I can not get a lot of signs like the “-” . it seems a recurrent problem: is there a definitive solution from digital ocean?

Hi @gdem12365a891f98137c7353f5

If you connect via SSH, you change the settings in the program you’re using (Terminal on Mac), but by default it should automatically detect and make the conversion for you.

You only need to change the droplet system keyboard if you’re using the web console, but in that case I would recommend just using the default (US) and then use an On Screen Keyboard on your computer (also set to US).

The web console is only there to save you in cases where you’ve firewalled yourself out or other extreme cases.

Or did I misunderstand what you’re asking for?
