Should I transfer my DNS records?

I currently have my domain registered at GoDaddy and I am hosting my application on a DigitalOcean droplet. In the GoDaddy A records I can just point the IP to the droplet IP isn’t it? are there any specific advantages of transferring the nameserver records to DO ? let me know.

So it really comes down to what you plan to keep over the long haul: your registrar or your host. If you plan to switch registrars in the near future, then it may make sense to save it at your host or vice versa. Switching away from GoDaddy to Google Domains was incredibly easy since they just needed to have the nameserver list. Didn’t have to confirm anything else.

I prefer having DO handle the DNS. The droplets are selectable in the drop-down menus and the autocomplete suggestions in places are very intuitive.

You are correct, that you can just use Godaddy Name Servers, and create a new a-record. I like using DigitalOcean for DNS. I find that adding A-records is much faster than the registrar I was using.

But not a huge deal. You would probably not notice much difference.
