SHUNNED status in proxySQL connect to MySQL Cluster

Posted on January 16, 2020

I have installed MySQL Cluster that has 6 MySQL Nodes. Client access MySQL Node through ProxySQL. But 2 of 6 MySQL Node in MySQL Cluster has status SHUNNED not ONLINE. I had checked connection from ProxySQL to MySQL Node use “ping” and the result shows the connection is OK. How to fix this status?

Hello,

That is an interesting question, after some investigation, I think the fact that a server is reported as SHUNNED it just means that during the last check was SHUNNED and no traffic has hit that node yet.

As far as I can see there is an open issue for implementing a mechanism to automatically unshun nodes even if there is no traffic hitting the specific node:
