I am new to Sitecore and TDS. Are the packages created by TDS the same as the packages created by Sitecore Package Designer? If not what is the difference. Plus how do I create a package using TDS. From what I saw TDS creates “Update Packages” although I am not sure what this means.

The packages created by TDS (Team Development for Sitecore) are not the same as those created by Sitecore Package Designer.
The ‘Update Packages’ created by TDS are specifically designed to include changes made during development, such as editing item templates, or creating and editing layouts and sublayouts. This enables easier deployment of code and content together, providing a more synchronized environment.
Creating a package with TDS involves setting up a TDS project, adding items to it, and then building the project to generate a .update package.
