Question

Snapshooter Restore Fails

I’ve a DO Ubuntu droplet backup generated by SnapShooter that I’m trying to restore to another DO droplet, however it keeps keeps stopping at the 47% mark.

The only message it shows is: … 5867520K … … … … … … 47% 1.56M 4m43s_ Unset USE_SUDO_ tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now_ Unset RESTORE_PATH_ Unset RESTORE_DATETIME_ Deleting Files 1_ Finished Step: Backup Restore_ Restore Failed_

The restore process has returned a none 0 exit status, Please check the logs to review to decide if the restore was success or not

I can’t figure out how go get past this! Any ideas?

Hello @kalevb

Simon here from the SnapShooter eng team. Seems your restoring a file backup (not a snapshot) and your getting an error.

These can happen for a number of reasons, from timeout to permission errors.

Could you try the restore manually as you will get a-lot more details.

If not could you send a message to support@snapshooter.com with your restore url and one of the sharks can have a look at your restore in more detail.

Kind regards

Simon
