Tableau is unable to connect to Digital Ocean Managed Database
I’m having trouble with Tableau and connecting it to the DO Managed Database.
The issue is whenever I want to create a new data source, it asks for my database credentials naturally I have to enter the username/password, and the port of course, which is 25060, below is the prompt I receive when I try to sign in.
Can’t connect to MySQL
Detailed Error Message
The connection to the data source might have been lost.
ReadBytes: Communication with the Tableau Protocol Server process was lost.
Unable to connect to the MySQL server “MANAGED-DATABASE-NAME.” Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database.
Now I know that in the past, there were a few troubles with connecting the DO database to various applications. Most of them were authentication issues and such. I was wondering if there is something specific needs to be configured on the database settings, or maybe someone else ran into this problem.
Any Ideas what could be the cause of it?
