The price says 5$ and but now the invoice is 6,20$ why is it not clearly stated that the price of the service has changed?

Since Finland is part of the European Union, DigitalOcean is supposed to charge VAT to its customers. This is a legal and common business practice.

On the pricing page, it is already indicated that the pricing excludes any applicable taxes. Additionally, in the Pricing & Billing FAQ on the same page, there is a whole paragraph explaining how taxes will be charged to Canadian and European customers.

DigitalOcean sent email to affected customers a while back to warn them of the changes. You can find an example of the email here.

I hope this satisfies your request that VAT pricing be explained on the pricing page. If not, you’ll have to contact DigitalOcean directly.

comparing to other services, here i found that even 6.25$ is so much little to pay for the ability to virtually play with different set ups and learn quickly. this comment is not related to topic but i am still saying that DIGITALOCEAN ROCKS!!!

The price is just the tip of the iceberg of what’s going on today and not really that much to complain about. It is still very good even with the requested by EU tax application. DO is not to blame, they HAVE to follow the new rules.
