Transfer static IP from droplet to app platform?

I have a droplet that a good number of people connect to with only its static IP address. It doesn’t do much except redirect to my app (which has a proper domain name).

Can I keep that static IP address and use it with app platform to accomplish the same thing? It would save me money every month.

There is no such feature at this time however it sounds like it’d be super useful!

Hey there! 👋

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to transfer a static IP address directly from a Droplet to the App Platform. Droplets and App Platform use different underlying networking setups, so you wouldn’t be able to keep the same IP address.

However, you can assign a static IP to your App Platform app, but it will be a new and different IP from the one your Droplet is currently using. Here’s a guide on how to set that up: 👉 How to Add a Static IP Address to App Platform

Once you set up the static IP for your App Platform app, you could update your configurations to use this new IP for any required redirects or connections.
