Transferred Droplet to Different Account. Runs about 50% slower with identical specs.

I have been running a droplet for two years with zero issues. I recently created a snapshot and transferred it to a different DO account. I created a new droplet with the exact same specs and it is running must slower.

Are some servers just a lot slower than others? Should I delete the droplet and re-create it in the hopes it lands on a faster server?

Looking for any advice. Thanks.

Hello, @SwordSmith

Could you please elaborate more on the performance issue? Is it your application/site that runs slower or it’s just that the server is taking more than to execute your commands? Can you notice spikes in the memory and CPU usage or in the server load itself?

Let me know how it goes.

  • The pages take much longer to load. Here are two benchmarks from Geekbench:

    Here’s the old (faster) droplet:

    Here’s the new (slower) droplet:

    • Hello, @SwordSmith

Thanks for getting back to me. Did you create the droplet indifferent region? Can you spot any difference in the memory/CPU usage on the new droplet? Have you done any other troubleshooting on the droplet as well?

The benchmarks tests are showing different results and what you need to do is to check if the new droplet is experiencing some issues like memory exhaustion or spike in the traffic and etc.

      • The droplets are in the same region.
There are zero differences in the droplet. They are identical in every way.

There is no traffic spike and usage has remained the same in every way.

Everything is 1:1 between the old droplet and the new one. This is why I posted the question.
