Ubuntu Desktop one-click install, VNC & root user passwords

Posted on April 13, 2014

I selected the Ubuntu 12.10 x64 Desktop App in the digitalocean dash. Now when trying to connect to VNC I get this error: screenshot: http://gyazo.com/eeb8e0d9235199edd57389a9e9c73dbc

When logging in with VNC via the dash I can only use guest account. How do I get access and change the password to root or Admin account?

I followed this doc: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/228 But skipping the install part, as it is pre-installed.

we really need an XFCE/VNC tut

VNC isn’t already installed – you will need to install it even if the image is a Desktop image.

A Desktop image is simply a server image with a desktop environment (XFCE) pre-installed.
