Question

Ubuntu server with wildfly application server doesn't respond

I am new to this type of platform and I do not know if I am doing it right, I want to test how a virtual server works Ubuntu I configured it and have access to via puTTy with a public SSH key, then I installed JDK 8 on the server and configured its environment variables, and then configure the Wildfly 14 application server in which I will then try to deploy a program. Wildfly starts correctly, but when I try to access it with the public IP address it does not respond. I tried it from a console through telnet 127.0.0.1 8080 and it responds.

Hi there @rramirezech,

There are a couple of things that could be causing the error:

  • Check if the Wildfly service is binding on 0.0.0.0:8080 and not 127.0.0.1:8080, you could do that with the following command:
  1. netstat -plant | grep 8080

If this is not the case, you need to make sure that the service is binding on 0.0.0.0:8080

  • If this is already configured like that, then it might be your firewall that is blocking the connections on port 8080 and you would need to make sure that this port is open.

Hope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
