Unable to create AMD-based Droplet

Posted on July 13, 2025

Hello DigitalOcean Support Team,

I would like to ask why I am currently unable to create a Droplet with an AMD CPU. The AMD option used to be available, but it no longer appears when I try to create a new Droplet.

Is this due to regional availability, temporary capacity limits, or some technical restrictions? If there is any recommended way to deploy an AMD-based Droplet, I would really appreciate your guidance.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi there,

It’s most likely due to temporary capacity issues or regional availability. AMD-based Droplets aren’t available in all datacenters, and when demand is high, the option might just disappear from the UI. Sometimes switching regions helps, so try creating the Droplet in a different datacenter.

You can also use the API or doctl compute size list to check which regions currently support AMD-based instances.

If that still doesn’t work, it’s best to contact support at do.co/support to get a definitive answer.

Just a heads-up, this is a community forum, so if you need account-specific help or confirmation, support is your best bet.
