If I use ServerPilot to manage my $5 droplet and at some point later I want to upgrade my droplet to a $10 one and again upgrade to a $20 one much later, will it be seamless ? Or do I have to manually download, upload the entire site data etc ?

It’s easy enough, there are steps you need to follow to make sure the upgrade goes as smoothly as possible however you won’t need to manually download your data or upload it later. So for all intense of purposes, yes it’s mostly a seamless upgrade process. You can read more about it here:
