Question

Using Launchrock with DigitalOcean

Posted October 1, 2013 3.7k views
Hi, I have a website which had LaunchRock landing page. My domain is registered with GoDaddy and in order for me to re-direct my domain to the launchrock page I had to add a CNAME record in my GoDaddy account. Having just signed up with DigitalOcean (Droplet: 512 MB RoR on Ubuntu) I'm trying to setup my host name following instructions (https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-set-up-a-host-name-with-digitalocean). I changed my nameservers to ns1.digitalocean.com ns2.digitalocean.com and ns3.digitalocean.com Ever since I did that my site has gone down and I cannot even ping it. What should I do?

UPDATE: My domain now leads to the Welcome to RoR page (Which is the default page for the RoR server). On GoDaddy, I added a CNAME record for LaunchRock:
signup (host name) host.launchrock.com (Points To)
If you are going to be using DigitalOcean's nameservers, then you should not be creating DNS records on GoDaddy. Instead, you need to utilize DigitalOcean's DNS Manager.

If you want to use GoDaddy's DNS Control Panel, then you can not use DigitalOcean's nameservers. Instead, you should use GoDaddy's nameservers
