VPS de UBUNTU a Windows

DigitalOcean Droplets run Linux by default and Windows is not officially supported as a Droplet OS. You cannot switch an existing Ubuntu Droplet to Windows through the control panel.

If you can share what you are trying to do on Windows specifically, there may be a Linux-based alternative that works just as well.

Sí, se puede si tu proveedor lo permite. Solo necesitas reinstalar el VPS con Windows Server (haciendo copia de seguridad antes). La IP/ubicación en Londres normalmente se mantiene si tienen Windows disponible en ese nodo.

DigitalOcean doesn’t offer Windows Droplet images and doesn’t support Windows through custom image uploads either, that’s specifically because of Microsoft’s licensing terms for infrastructure providers. Custom images on DigitalOcean also have to be Unix-like with an ext3 or ext4 filesystem, which rules out a Windows Server image regardless of licensing.

So there’s no supported path to Windows on this Droplet, in any region. If you specifically need Windows, that means a different provider that offers it natively. If it’s really a specific piece of software driving this, worth checking whether it runs under Wine on Linux first.
