VPS for my WordPress

Posted on April 17, 2026

I am not sure how to contact the sales department, so I am writing here. I am interested in purchasing a VPS for my WordPress classified website, and I have a few questions:

Can I receive a $200 free credit on my new account? Will you provide cPanel (Free of cost) or a similar control panel to install themes and manage other website settings? If I experience any issues, how long does it usually take for your team to resolve them? Is there any free firewall? In the future, if I need to increase my disk space, will I be able to upgrade without changing my entire plan? For example, if my plan includes 50 GB of storage and I want to add 10 GB more, what would be the price for the additional space?

I look forward to your response

Hi there,

Happy to answer these one by one:

$200 free credit: For any questions around credits and billing on a new account, the best place to check is directly with the support team at https://cloud.digitalocean.com/support.

cPanel: DigitalOcean does not include cPanel for free. cPanel is third party software with its own licensing cost. A popular free alternative is Coolify or WordOps specifically for WordPress, and DigitalOcean also has a 1-Click WordPress Droplet that gets you set up quickly without needing a control panel at all.

Support response times: DigitalOcean offers ticket-based support for all customers. Response times vary depending on your plan. Faster support is available on higher tier plans.

Firewall: Yes, DigitalOcean includes a free cloud firewall that you can configure from the control panel. No extra cost.

Disk upgrades: To get more disk space you would need to resize to a larger Droplet, or attach a separate Block Storage volume which starts at $0.10/GB per month. Block Storage is flexible and you can increase its size without touching your Droplet.

For a WordPress classified site, a basic $6-$12/month Droplet is usually a solid starting point depending on your traffic.

Yes, there is a free credit, also there is a student pack which you can use.

DO doesn’t provide cPanel for free, it’s a paid licensed product. Most people use either the DO control panel for server management plus something like Webmin/Plesk if they want a GUI, or just go with the 1-click WordPress Droplet which gets you up and running without needing a control panel at all. Honestly for a single WordPress site the 1-click option is the easiest path.

The Cloud firewalls are free and built in.

You can attach additional block storage volumes (DO Volumes) to any Droplet independently of your plan, so you don’t need to resize the whole Droplet just to get more disk. Pricing is $0.10/GB/month so 10GB extra would be $1/month.
