I have a droplet with an dokuwiki installation. When new users are added a confirmation email is sent to them. However, this fails at teh momenet and Dokuwiki advice is that it is a server problem.
What should I so to enable email sending?

What I personally do in such cases is to use an SMTP service like SendGrid. That way you would not have to run and maintain your own mail server.
They also offer a free account which is sufficient for most use cases.
Once you create an account with SendGrid, you will get SMTP details which you could use for your application to send out emails.
