What's my Host Name (Address) for connection to MySql database from outside web using php?

I try

define(“HOST”, “localhost”); define(“USER”, “root”); define(“PASS”, “xxx@@@); define(“DB”, “database name”);

mysql_connect(HOST,USER,PASS); mysql_select_db(DB); mysql_query(“SET NAMES ‘UTF8’”);

But I couldn’t connect to my sql database to pull data.

I was able to use the php code to pull from go daddy mysql

Is the MySQL server hosted on your droplet? If so, localhost should work. Otherwise, it should be the IP of the server that is running your MySQL server.

Hi Kamal, <br> <br>MySQL server is hosted on the droplet. <br>I was able to look up data using ubuntu interface. <br>I install LAMP and Phpmyadmin according to the instruction. <br>
