Hi. I’ve launched a website where people will sign up for an event. The event will open at 7pm and I’m expecting 500-600 people to sign up for 200 places. I’m concerned that with 500-600 people refreshing the page and calling to action the creating of profiles and signing up to an event that my site might crash. Is this realistic, or will my site likely be fine? The traffic will almost guaranteed be 500-600 but they will all be actively using the site. I currently am using the 2GB RAM and 40GB SSD Disk droplet on Ubuntu WordPress.

I don’t think you should have anything to worry about. The 2GB droplet should handle this. One thing you can do to reduce the load would be to set up CloudFlare’s free service in front of your droplet. This will cache static files and majorly reduce the load on your droplet itself in this type of situation.
