Hi,
I recently moved my domain to Digital Ocean. It’s a honeymoon until I had to configure the mail server. After installed it doesn`t run. I did check the install, the MXtoolbox to check if the server answers properly and finally decided to open a support ticket.
Then I received a message stating that I’m in a 60 days probe period (they want to find if I’m a “stable” customer) and I’ll have my email server authorized after this period.
I couldn’t find any SPAM policy in the website, I read all legal stuff in https://www.digitalocean.com/legal/terms/ and haven’t found a mention to this SPAM policy.
I would like to ask the community if someone knows about it and where is this SPAM policy and if there is another hidden policies around? I reallly liked the Droplet performance and I fully agree with SPAM prevention but it must be stated clearly!
All the best!
Jose

you are not alone, I feel like trapped here. I moved my cpanel server to DO 19 days ago.
I have old account but it’s locked (under review) for unknown reason, so I create a new account and try to explain my situation but they don’t care. Vultr is better far than DO in this case, they can understand my bussiness and their support is faster than DO.
Hi, thanks for sharing… I thought I was the only one (no mention to this policy anywhere).
They didnt care, every time I ask they send me a standard reply. Ill give a try on Vultr and on those SMTP service.
Thanks!
Does the 60 day waiting period still applied? I have a django-based website which perfectly sends emails through Gmail (port 587) when run locally but fails to work when moved to DO App Platform.
