Hi Folks the community is awesome here! Ok so I set up owncloud on a droplet, however I get this when I login to my ownCloud You are accessing ownCloud via HTTP. We strongly suggest you configure your server to require using HTTPS instead.

I was wondering if I could have some direction on how to set the server up to require https! Any help would be great thanks!

Hi there,

What you could do is use Let’s Encrypt and certbot to automatically generate a free SSL certificate. You can follow the steps here on how to do that:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-secure-nginx-with-let-s-encrypt-on-ubuntu-20-04

In addition to that, you could also take a look at the official OwnCloud docs here:

https://doc.owncloud.com/server/next/admin_manual/installation/letsencrypt/using_letsencrypt.html

Best,

Bobby
