Can dynamic ip really hide your identity?

Posted on February 25, 2021

As a surfing enthusiast, I like to browse various high-quality websites. At the same time, I don’t want to leave my real IP address in the network. So I searched for a tomatoip.io on Google and purchased a batch of dynamic ip for normal network access. But I don’t know how the dynamic ip works. Can I really hide my real ip address?

Hi @leyte948,

If you want to hide your real IP address, I would suggest using a VPN. There are two ways I would suggest you go with.

The first one is, if you are an ethusiast, you can always do it yourself. By saying yourself, I mean with the help of DigitalOcean’s tutorials. You can follow this OpenVPN tutorial which will help you configure, set it up and then use it:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-an-openvpn-server-on-ubuntu-18-04

If you want to just go ahead and use it without having to trouble yourself too much with the installation process, I would suggest using the ready MarketPlace OpenVPN droplet here:

OpenVPN Access Server delivers the enterprise VPN your business has been looking for. Protect your data communications, secure IoT resources, and provide encrypted remote access to on-premise, hybrid, and public cloud resources.
