Changing the kernel version

Posted on September 4, 2014

Hello,

I’m currently using debian 7 64x and to install glusterFs-client I need to upgrade the kernel version (something about fuse not working on the digitalOcean version)

So I will have to upgrade my kernel (in previous test I did it, and it work) But I’m not sure which one to upgrade to. I have thoses options:

  • Debian 7.0 x64 vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64 (3.2.57-3)
  • Debian 7.0 x64 vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64 (3.2.57-3+deb7u1)
  • Debian 7.0 x64 vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64 (3.2.57-3+deb7u2)
  • Debian 7.0 x64 vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64 (3.2.60-1+deb7u1)
  • Debian 7.0 x64 vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64 (3.2.60-1+deb7u3)

I understand the 3.2.* is the kernel version, but what about the +deb7u*? what is the “u” at the end?

Thank you
