CoreOS end of life May 26th 2020

Posted on February 17, 2020

Hi, since the eol of CoreOS is coming closer every day I was wondering if there is going to be any official recommendation from DigitalOcean on how to move on. Is the successor (Fedora CoreOS) going to be supported sometime soon or should we migrate to alternatives? From my point of view the only alternative for a container os at DigitalOcean would be RancherOS currently (because also Fedora Atomic will be replaced by Fedora CoreOS). This would be a breaking change for CoreOS users because it uses a pretty different approach. Since CoreOS will no longer receive any updates after eol (including security updates) I think it is critical to have a good migration strategy.

Thanks for your help / feedback - it is greatly appreciated.

Seems like since today or this weekend the core-os image is not longer available in the registry, can somebody confirm this?

Is there any update to the Fedora CoreOS support?
