dkpg was interrupted, must run dkpg --configure -a to correct

Posted on September 28, 2017

Hello, I receive the following error when wanting to do apt-get upgrade or update.

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run ‘sudo dpkg --configure -a’ to correct the problem.

Unfortunately I cannot run dpkg as it says it isn’t installed. I can’t install it do the problem. So what can I do?

Thanks!

Hello,

Have you tried running the dpkg command with sudo? If this does not work, try running:

locate dpkg

This should give you the full path to the dpkg binary, then you could run the sudo /path/to/dpkg --configure -a with the full path to the dpkg and this should work fine in this case.
